Examples of Mitsubishi Mirage Maintenance Available at Your Dealership

Oil Replacement

Oil is your engine’s lifeblood. It travels through the engine at high speed, cooling your engine as it travels. The oil coats engine components in a friction-resistant coating, enabling components to slide rather than grind against each other and protecting them from damage. In addition, oil additives reduce rust and break down carbon deposits that can cause engine blockages.

The oil passes through the oil filter, which traps dirt and other debris captured by the oil. In time, this filter will become blocked, restricting the oil flow and reducing engine performance. Older oil becomes less effective at lubricating your engine, and rust and blockages can form. We’ll drain your old oil and reseal the oil sump. We then remove and replace your oil filter and refill your engine with fresh oil.

Alternator Replacement

The alternator is a mini electrical generator that supplies power for all your car’s systems. It’s powered by the crankshaft turning, and this movement causes the alternator to spin at high speed to generate electricity. This electricity is then transmitted to every component via a network of wires and cables.

An alternator has a relatively long lifespan of approximately eight years. As the alternator ages, worn components cause it to slow down and reduce the amount of electricity it supplies. This slowdown is unavoidable, and you’ll notice its effect as random electrical glitches will appear, starting will become more difficult, and your headlights will dim. Our technicians will test your alternator, and we can install a replacement in minutes to remove these problems.

Spark Plug Replacement

Spark plugs provide the ignition source for the fuel-air mixture in the cylinders. Each cylinder has a spark plug screwed into it, and this plug ignites at a precise moment to produce efficient combustion. The plugs gradually wear down, and worn plugs won’t ignite the mixture correctly. This can lead to misfiring or stalling.

Failing spark plugs will also cause your engine to become less fuel-efficient, as much of the fuel is wasted as it won’t burn correctly. Once we replace the worn plugs, your engine will become fuel-efficient again.
