Mitsubishi Interior Care Tips

The inside of our cars are not just functional spaces where we have to spend time. They can also be an extension of ourselves, and particularly when you’re enjoying the sleek dashboards and plush seats of an Eclipse Cross or an Outlander PHEV. Here’s some tips for Mitsubishi interior care that will preserve the comfort and style you’ve come to enjoy.

Mitsubishi Interior Care Tips

Clean the Upholstery

Seats take the brunt of daily use, so they’re a priority. If you have cloth upholstery, start by vacuuming regularly and use a soft brush attachment so you don’t snag any fibers. If there are stains, try a mild upholstery cleaner, but always test it first to make sure that it doesn’t leave a stain.

Don’t completely soak the fabric, and then just blot it – don’t rub it – so you don’t spread the stain around. If you have a leather interior, wipe it with a damp microfiber cloth to get rid of dust and then apply leather cleaner and conditioner once a month.

Clean Fast

Whether it’s your dashboard, a seat, or the floor, the faster you clean up a spill, the easier it will be to get everything out. Soak up liquids with a dry cloth and then get to cleaning. If you’re facing some kind of stubborn mark, like ink, try some rubbing alcohol used very sparingly on a cotton pad.

Even if the spill is of dry things, like kids’ cereal or some crumbs, you’ll feel a lot better about your car if you get it all cleaned out as soon as possible.

Protect the Dashboard and Trim

Dust always settles on the dashboard quickly, so wipe it down every week with a microfiber cloth dampened with a little water. Your local big box store or auto supply store will have a range of plastic safe dashboard cleaners, and you can use these once every month or so to restore shine and help to prevent dust buildup.

Remember that sunlight is the enemy of your interior. The UV rays of the sun can crack your dashboard and ruin your interior upholstery. If you can’t keep your vehicle in a garage or under cover, at least get a sunshade. You can also buy UV protectant spray for your dashboard that will help it resist those UV rays for longer.
